Join our creative meet-ups – a chance for local LGBTQ+ people and allies to connect and take part in creative activities. This month we'll be exploring little books and zines as a meditative making practice — folding, stitching, and filling small handmade books using recycled and reclaimed materials, collage, drawing, and mark-making.
No experience needed. We'll have prompts to help you get started, but this is a gentle, self-led space to explore self-expression, connection, and different ways of sitting with your feelings. You'll leave with something you made and a practice you can carry on at home.
Jo Wood (@jdwoof) is a visual artist and community workshop facilitator based in Manor Park, whose practice centres on found, foraged, and reclaimed materials. She works with making as a form of personal support and community connection.
The room can be accessed via lift or stairs. There are toilets, including an accessible toilet on the same floor.
Please note this meet-up is for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+.
This project is supported by the NE London ICB.
